In Joshua chapter 16, the borders and the division of the earth are described between the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. The following verses are related to the topics addressed in this chapter:
Numbers 26:52-54: "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'The earth will be divided among them as an inheritance, according to the number of names. Those who are many in number will receive a greater inheritance, and those who are few in number they will receive a lower inheritance. Each will receive their inheritance according to the census. But the land will be distributed by draw; and will be divided according to the tribes of their ancestors. " This verse shows that the distribution of land between the tribes of Israel was a plan of God since the time of Moses.
Deuteronomy 33:17: "Which is majestic as the first bull of the flock, its tips are the horns of the wild ox. the thousands of Manasseh. " This verse mentions the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, who received the earth described in Joshua 16.
Joshua 17:14-18: In this passage we see the tribe of Joseph (ie the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh) complaining that the land given to them is not enough for them. Joshua responds indicating that they have the ability to expand their territory, but must expel the Canaanites who are still in the region.
Psalm 78:67-69: "Then he rejected Joseph's tent; He did not choose the tribe of Ephraim, but chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved. He built his sanctuary as the heights, as the earth That he set forever. He chose David, his servant, and took him out of the currals of sheep. " This verse mentions that the Ephraim tribe was rejected, but Judah's tribe was chosen as the main tribe to lead Israel. This is relevant because the Ephraim tribe received a larger portion of land in Joshua 16, but it was not chosen by God as the leading tribe.
1 Kings 7:23-26: This verse describes the bronze pillars that Solomon made to the temple in Jerusalem. The pillar called "Boaz" was built to represent the tribe of Ephraim, which, as mentioned above, received a larger portion of land in Joshua 16.
