33. He beat them from Aroer to the border of Minnith (twenty towns) and to Abel-Keramim. It was a very severe defeat, and the Ammonites were humbled by the Israelites.

Chapter 11 of the Judges Book tells the story of Jephtha, a brave warrior who was chosen as leader of his people in a time of conflict and oppression. Jephtter makes a vow to the Lord, promising that if he overcomes the battle against the Ammonites, he will sacrifice the first person who leaves his home to find him. Hebrews 11:32: "And what else will I say? I have no time to talk about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephtha, David, Samuel, and the prophets," This verse mentions Jephtter as a hero of faith, despite his flaws and errors.

2 Corinthians 5:7: "For we live by faith, and not for what we see." This verse talks about the importance of faith in God, even when things do not seem to make sense or are difficult to understand, as was the case with Jephthah in their difficult situation.
