2. The house has ascended with Dibon to the heights, in mourning over Nebo and over Medeba. Moab has wailed. There will be baldness on all of their heads, and every beard will be shaven.

Isaiah 15 describes the destruction of Moab, a neighboring people of Israel. The chapter narrates the affliction and despair of the Moabites in the face of the invasion and divine judgment. Next are five verses related to the topics addressed in Isaiah 15:

Jeremiah 48:46: "Woe to you, Moab! The people of whom he perished, because your children were taken captive to the captivity, and your daughters, to captivity." This verse talks about the capture and exile of the Moabites by the Babylonians, an event that was prophesied by Isaiah in his book.
