1. After these things, I saw, and behold, a door was opened in heaven, and the voice that I heard speaking with me first was like a trumpet, saying: “Ascend to here, and I will reveal to you what must occur after these things.”

Revelation 4 describes the view of the heavenly throne and the worship of living beings and elders before the throne. This view is an introduction to the rest of the book, which reveals the future events that culminate in the final triumph of God and His people.
