21. And Achaz stripped the house of the Lord, and the house of the kings, and of the princes, and gave gifts to the king of the Assyrians, and yet it availed him nothing.

This verse talks about the importance of not practicing idolatry and avoiding everything that is abominable to the Lord. Ahaz, however, surrendered to these practices.

Psalm 106:36-37: "They served their idols, who became a bond for them. They sacrificed their children and their daughters to demons." Hosea 8:7: "For they have sown winds, and will searches storm; This verse talks about how those who plant seeds of evil will harvest the storm. Ahaz planted seeds of idolatry and alliances with pagan nations, and this resulted in torment to his people.
