Chapter 13 of 1 Kings narrates the story of a prophet who is sent by God to rebuke King Jeroboam for his idolatry. The prophet performs a miracle before the king, but is deceived by an elderly man who is passed by a prophet and convinces him to disobey God's instructions. Deuteronomy 13:1-4: "If a prophet or someone who has dreams and gives you a sign or wonder arises, and if this sign or wonder he has announced if he fulfills, and if he says, 'Let's follow Other gods' - gods you do not know - 'and let us worship them,' do not listen to the words of this prophet or dreamer. Psalm 119:105: "Lamp for my feet is your word, and light to my way." This verse highlights the importance of God's Word as a guide to the Christian life. The Prophet in 1 Kings 13 would have avoided death if he had faithfully followed God's instructions.

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding; recognize the Lord in all your ways, and He will straighten your paths."
