Chapter 2 of Philippians addresses Christ's humility as an example for Christians. John 13:14: "Now, if I, Lord and Master, wash my feet, you must also wash each other's feet." In this verse, Jesus teaches his disciples to serve each other, something Paul also emphasizes in Philippians 2:3-4. He highlights the importance of humility and service, something that was exemplified by the attitude of Christ.

1 Peter 5:5: "Similarly young people, thirst subject to the elders; and thirst all subjects to each other, and cover humility, because God resists the superb, but gives grace to the humble."
