15. So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and experienced men, and set them as heads over you, commanders of thousands, commanders of hundreds, commanders of fifties, commanders of tens, and officers, throughout your tribes.

Deuteronomy 1 is a chapter where Moses recalls the history of the Israelites since they left Egypt until they reached the border of the promised land. Deuteronomy 10:12-13 - "Now, O Israel, who is that the Lord your God requires from you, but that you have the Lord thy God, who you walk in all his ways, and the Ames, and the Lord, and the Lord, and to the Lord, and to the Lord, and to the Lord, and to the Lord, and to Your God with all your heart and your soul, to keep the commandments of the Lord and your statutes that I command you today, for your good?
