Joshua, 1

9. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

Joshua chapter 1 marks the beginning of Joshua's leadership over the children of Israel after the death of Moses. God commissiones Joshua to lead the people in conquering the promised land, and encourages them to be strong and brave. Joshua then transmits these words to the people, who promises to obey and follow Joshua as leader.

1 Samuel 18:14: "And David thrived in all his ways, for the Lord was with him." Just as God was with Joshua, he was also with David on his mission. This verse highlights the importance of God's presence and support in our lives.

Psalm 27:14: "Wait for you for the Lord; encourage you, and strengthen your heart; wait for the Lord." God encouraged Joshua to be strong and brave, and this verse also encourages us to trust God in difficult times and wait for him.

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust the Lord of all your heart, and do not stir in your own understanding. Recognizes him in all your ways, and he will straighten your paths."
