8. And, taking him, the servants of Holofernes traveled through the plains. But when they approached close to the mountains, the slingers of stones went forth against them.

Judite 6 reports the meeting of the rulers of neighboring cities to Israel to discuss the war that was taking place. They decided to unite their strength to attack Israel, but first summoned the leader of the Israelites, Uzziah, to convince him to surrender.
