Tobias chapter 3 reports the prayer of Sara, daughter of Raguel, who was distressed because of a demon who pursued and terrified her, causing her to want death. Tobias, a relative of Sara, is sent to heal her and end the harm that haunted her. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Tobias 3:
Tobias 6:16: "Then Rafael called them both and said unto them, 'Bendize God and proclaim before all the living the good works He has done for you, giving him thanks loud." This verse highlights the importance of thanking God for His blessings, something that is done throughout the prayer of Sarah.
2 Corinthians 12:7: "And so that it would not teach me with the greatness of the revelations, I was put a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to slap myself, so that it does not exalt too much." This verse talks about the apostle Paul, who also faced a messenger from Satan, as Sarah, and how he prayed for God to help him.
James 4:7: "Subject to God, but resist the devil, and he shall run away from you." This verse encourages Christians to resist the devil and trust God to help them overcome their temptations and trials.
1 Peter 5:8-9: "Sober and vigilant thirst, because the Devil, your adversary, is melting, bustling as a lion, seeking to those who can swallow; to which resisted firm in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are fulfilled between your brothers in the world. " This verse talks about the need to be alert and resist the devil, for he is always looking for someone to try.
Ephesians 6:12: "For we do not have to fight against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the princes of darkness of this century, against the spiritual hosts of evil in the heavenly places." This verse talks about the spiritual nature of the battle that Christians face, and how they must be equipped with God's armor to resist the devil's onslaught.
