12. So, do to others whatever you would that others do to you: there you have the Law and the Prophets.

St. Matthew 7 begins with Jesus teaching about judging others, warning that we will be judged in the same way as we judge others. James 1:22: "They are not just listeners of the Word, deceiving themselves. Practice what she says." This verse reinforces the idea that the practice of the word is fundamental rather than just listening without acting.
