Deuteronomy, 27

26. Cursed be he that abideth not in the words of this law, and fulfilleth them not in work: and all the people shall say: Amen.

Deuteronomy 27 is a chapter that presents instructions on the ceremony of consecration of God's law in the promised land. The people of Israel should perform this ceremony when entering the earth that God had promised them. The ceremony consisted of writing the law on large stones and erecting an altar to the Lord. Half of the people should stand on Mount Gerizim, and the other half should stay on Mount Ebal, while the priests gave blessings and curses. Deuteronomy 6:6-9: "These words that I command today will be in your heart. You will teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you are sitting at your home, when you are walking the way, when you lie down and when you get up . You will tie them as a sign in your hands and will be like tracks on your forehead. Write them in the batty of your home and in your gates. " This verse emphasizes the importance of teaching God's law to future generations, the central theme of the ceremony described in Deuteronomy 27.

Deuteronomy 31:12-13: "Gather the people, men, women and children, and foreigners resident in their cities, that they may hear and learn to fear the Lord, their God, and carefully follow all the words of this law.
