16. Therefore thus saith the Lord: I will return to Jerusalem in mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts: and the building line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

" This verse shows how Zechariah's message about the need for repentance and obedience is in harmony with the prophecies of other prophets, such as Jeremiah, who predicted the exile and punishment of Judah and Babylon.

Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans of peace and not evil, to give them a future and hope."
