2 Samuel, 7

25. And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish [it] for ever, and do as thou hast said.

2 Samuel 7 narrates an important dialogue between God and King David, in which God promises David a lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom. 2 Samuel 7:16: "Thy house and your kingdom will be forever safe before me; Your throne will be established forever." God promises to David that his dynasty will be eternal.

Acts 2:29-31: "Brothers, be allowed to tell you with frankness that patriarch David died and was buried, and his grave is among us to this day. Being a prophet, he knew that God had Promised with an oath that one of his descendants would settle on his throne. Predicting this, David spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that he was not abandoned in Hades, nor did his body experience corruption. " Peter quotes David to demonstrate that Jesus' resurrection is evidence of God's faithfulness to the promise of eternal descent to David.
