This verse is similar to Jesus' response to the young rich in St. Mark 10, emphasizing the importance of abandoning everything in favor of following Christ.

Luke 18:17: "Truth I say unto you, Whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a child shall not enter into him." This statement of Jesus reinforces the importance of children, which He blessed in St. Mark 10 and stated that they represent those who are worthy of the Kingdom of God.
