13. A survivor came to tell Abram, and Aner the Hebrew, who was living at the Oak of the Amorite Mamre, the brother of Eshcol; these were allies of Abram.

1 Peter 5:8: "Be sober and vigilant. The devil, your enemy, is around like a lion, looking for someone to devour." This verse speaks of how we should be alert against the enemy's attacks. In Genesis 14, we see that Lot was captured because he was not vigilant against his enemies.

2 Corinthians 10:4: "For the weapons of our war are not carnal, but powerful in God for the destruction of fortresses."
