Isaiah, 34

10. Night and day it shall not be quenched, its smoke shall rise forever. From generation to generation she shall lie waste, never again shall anyone pass through her.

Amos 1:11: "Thus saith the Lord, by three transgressions of Edom, and for four I will not remove the punishment, because he persecuted with sword to his brother, and violated his bowels; your outrage forever. " Amos denounces Edom for his cruelty and violence against the people of Israel, and prophesies that God will judge them for their sins.
