2 Samuel 4 describes the death of Is-Boste, the son of Saul, who had been proclaimed king of Israel after the death of his father. Psalm 31:15: "In your hands are my days; deliver me from the hands of my enemies and those who persecute me." This verse expresses confidence in God to protect those who are persecuted and attacked by their enemies, something that Is-Boste would certainly have desired.

Proverbs 24:17: "Do not be happy when your enemy falls; your heart is not rejoiced when he stumbles." This verse warns against joy at the misfortune of others and highlights the importance of empathy, even in relation to enemies.
