2. "Consult Yahweh on our behalf, for Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, has started a war with us. Perhaps Yahweh will work a few of his miracles and make the enemy withdraw."

Jeremiah 21 presents a message from God to the king of Judah, Zedekiah, about the judgment that was about to happen over the people of Judah. Isaiah 1:15-17: "When you extend your hands in prayer, I will hide from you my eyes; even if you multiply your prayers, I will not hear them! Your hands are full of blood! Jeremiah 22:3: "Thus says the Lord, Practice justice and right. Deliver the oppressed from the oppressor's hand. Do not oppress the foreigner, the orphan or the widow. Ezekiel 33:11: "I swear for my life, word of the sovereign, the Lord, who I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but in which they move away from their ways and live.
