12. He that is far off shall die of the pestilence: and he that is near, shall fall by the sword: and he that remaineth, and is besieged, shall die by the famine: and I will accomplish my indignation upon them.

" This verse describes the idolatry of the people of Israel and how they have moved away from God's commandments. 1 Kings 18:21: "Then Elijah has come to all the people, and said, How long shall shall you be between two thoughts? If the Lord is God, follow him; and if Baal, follow him. . " This verse is part of the story of Elijah confronting Baal's prophets.
