Psalm 107 is a hymn of thanks to God for his kindness and mercy to rescue those who call for help in situations of distress. Isaiah 61:1: "The Spirit of the Sovereign, the Lord, is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. " This verse talks about Christ's mission on earth, which was to free the captives and take care of those with a broken heart, like those who call for help in the situations described in Psalm 107.
