Chapter 16 of the Gospel of John is marked by a discourse of Jesus to his disciples shortly before his arrest and death. He talks about the coming of the Holy Spirit, who will help them understand the truth and guide it in their testimony. In this verse, Paul talks about the peace of God who keeps the hearts of believers, a theme addressed by Jesus in John 16:16-33, when he says he will leave his disciples his peace.

James 1:2-4: "My brothers, tends for all the joy to pass through various trials, knowing that the trial of your faith produces patience; and patience has your perfect work, so that you may be perfect and complete , without missing anything. " In these verses, James teaches about the joy that can be found in the midst of trials, a theme addressed by Jesus in John 16:16.
