7. The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, 'It is the Lord.' At these words, 'It is the Lord,' Simon Peter tied his outer garment round him (for he had nothing on) and jumped into the water.

In John 21, the chapter narrates one of Jesus' apparitions to his disciples after his resurrection. In John 21, Jesus appears to his disciples after his resurrection, but makes it clear that this meeting is temporary and that he will return to be with them again.
