36. And they all decreed by public vote never to let this day go unobserved, but to celebrate the thirteenth day of the twelfth month -- which is called Adar in the Syrian language -- the day before Mordecai's day.

1 Corinthians 15:57: "But thank God who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Judas and his men recognize that victory is possible only through God, and thank him for giving them victory.

2 Timothy 4:7: "I fought the good fight, I finished my career, I kept the faith." Judas and his men bravely fight the final battle, trusting God to protect them and, in the end, can overcome the good fight.
