21. This is what the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, has to say about those who prophesy lies to you in my name, Ahab, son of Kolaiah, and Zedekiah, son of Maaseiah: I am handing them over to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, who will slay them before your eyes.
Jeremiah 29 contains a letter from the prophet Jeremiah to the exiles in Babylon, in which he instructs the people to seek the peace and prosperity of the city in which they were led, even if it means living there for many years. You were bought by price; you do not become slaves of men. Brothers, each one is before God in the condition it was called. " Jeremiah instructed the exiles to settle in Babylon and seek the peace and prosperity of the city. This verse teaches that we must remain where God has placed us and seek to honor Him in our present condition.
