Chapter 10 of 2 Chronicles narrates the story of how King Roban, Son of Solomon, became the king of Judah after his father's death. He is confronted by Jeroboam, leader of the Kingdom of Israel of the Northern, who asks Robano to reduce the tax burden imposed on the people. If Roban had loved his people and considered his needs, he could have avoided the division of the kingdom of Israel.
