4. because of the arrival of the day on which all the Philistines will be devastated, and Tyre and Sidon will be destroyed, with all the rest of their helpers. For the Lord has depopulated the Philistines, the remnant of the island of Cappadocia.
In Chapter 47 of Jeremiah, we find a prophecy about the destruction of Gaza. The coastal city would be attacked by the Babylonians and its inhabitants would be killed or taken as prisoners. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:
