14. Then Onias, the High Priest, said to Judas, "This is he who loves your brothers, he who prays without ceasing for the Jewish people and for the Holy City. He is Jeremiah, the prophet of God."

1 Corinthians 15:57: "But thank God who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Judas and his men recognize that victory is possible only through God, and thank him for giving them victory.

2 Timothy 4:7: "I fought the good fight, I finished my career, I kept the faith." Judas and his men bravely fight the final battle, trusting God to protect them and, in the end, can overcome the good fight.
