Joshua is in charge of leading the people, and God commands him to be strong and brave and obey the law of Moses to succeed.

Joshua 23:6: "He thirsts hard to keep you and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, not turning to you to the right or left." Joshua reminds the people of the importance of obeying God's law and not deviating from it.

Psalm 119:165: "Great peace have those who love your law, and for them there is no stumble." Obedience to God's law brings peace and avoids sin.
