2. And the Lord said to Satan: The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan: and the Lord that chose Jerusalem rebuke thee: Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Zechariah 3 reports the vision of a divine judgment in which the high priest Joshua is accused and then purified from his sins. The main theme of the chapter is justification before God, the removal of guilt and redemption. Five verses that address these themes are:

1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all injustice." This verse highlights the importance of God's confession and promise to forgive them and purify of injustice.
