Saint Matthew 27 is the chapter that reports the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Some events occurred during their arrest and trial are also narrated. Following are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

Isaiah 53:5: "But he was pierced because of our transgressions, he was crushed because of our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we were healed." This prophetic verse of Isaiah describes the death of Jesus and its purpose in bringing us peace and healing.

Mark 15:22-24: "They took Jesus to the place called Golgota (meaning the place of the skull). There they gave him wine mixed with gall; to see who would be with each one. " This verse of the Gospel of Mark describes the place where Jesus was crucified and the cruel treatment he received from the Roman soldiers.

Luke 23:34: "Jesus said, Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing. Then they shared his clothes, taking away sorts." This verse of the Gospel of Luke shows the merciful and pardior character of Jesus, even when he was being crucified.

John 19:26-27: "When Jesus saw his mother there, and near her the disciple whom he loved, said to his mother: woman, here is his son, and to the disciple: Here is his mother. Of that time Onwards, the disciple received her at his home. " This verse of the Gospel of John shows Jesus' care and concern with his mother and his concern to ensure that she was well cared for after her death.

Hebrews 9:28: "So Christ was also offered in sacrifice once, to take the sins of many; and will appear a second time, not to take away sin, but to bring salvation to those who await him." This verse of the Epistle to the Hebrews explains the meaning of Jesus' death as a sacrifice for our sins and the promise of his second coming to bring salvation.
