Judges, 6

8. Yahweh sent a prophet to the Israelites. He said to them, 'This is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says, "It was I who brought you out of Egypt, and led you out of the place of slave-labour.

Judges 6 tells the story of Gideon, a young man who was called by God to lead the Israelites in the fight against the Midianites. Gideon at first proved incredulous and asked God to prove his mission. God granted these proofs to Gideon, who finally gathered an army to face the Midianites. 2 Corinthians 12:9: "But he said to me, 'My grace is enough for you, for my power is perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will glory even more happily in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ rests on me. " This verse speaks of how God uses human weaknesses to demonstrate His power. Gideon was a weak and incapable man, but God used him to defeat the Midianites, thus showing his power and his grace.

1 Samuel 17:45: "David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with a sword, spear and dart, but I go against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the hosts of Israel, whom you challenged. '"This verse speaks of the importance of trusting God in times of difficulty. David trusted God to defeat Goliath, and Gideon also trusted God to lead the Israelites against the Midianites. Both men believed that God was with them and could do great things through Him.
