9. Those who remain in the confines of the city will meet their deaths by the sword, famine or plague; those who go out and surrender to the Chaldeans besieging the city will live and will be the only ones to be saved.

Ezekiel 33:11: "I swear for my life, word of the sovereign, the Lord, who I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but in which they move away from their ways and live. Psalm 91:15: "He shall invoke me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in anguish, free him and glorify him." God promises to be present with his children during his anguish, freeing them and glorifying them.

John 16:33: "I told you these things that you may have peace in me. In this world you will have afflictions; however, have the mood! I have won the world." Jesus warns his disciples that in this world they would have afflictions, but that he had won them, bringing peace and hope.
