45. It was handed down from one ancestor of ours to another until Joshua brought it into the country that had belonged to the nations which were driven out by God before us. Here it stayed until the time of David.

Acts of the Apostles 7 narrates Stephen's speech before being stoned to death. Stephen accuses religious leaders of being hypocritical, for they were disobeying God and trusting in their position as leaders of the temple rather than obeying God.

Psalm 110:1 - "The Lord said to my Lord, 'Sit you to my right until I put your enemies as a dais to your feet." Stephen closes his speech by pointing to the exaltation of Jesus, who is at the right of God and is the true leader and savior.
