1. Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior, but he was the son of a harlot. Gilead was the father of Jephthah.

Chapter 11 of the Judges Book tells the story of Jephtha, a brave warrior who was chosen as leader of his people in a time of conflict and oppression.
