37. And she said to her father, "Let this thing be done for me; let me alone two months, that I may go and wander on the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my companions."

Chapter 11 of the Judges Book tells the story of Jephtha, a brave warrior who was chosen as leader of his people in a time of conflict and oppression. Unfortunately, this person ends up being his own daughter, and Jephtter finds himself facing a terrible choice.

" These verses introduce the vote of Jephthah and the tragedy he will eventually cause.
