Deuteronomy 8:2-3 - "And thou shalt remind you all the way by which the Lord your God has guided you in the desert these forty years, to humiliate you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, if you kept your own commandments or not. " Moses reminds the people of how God guided them and sustained in the desert, and that it went to teach them how to trust him and obey their commandments.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13 - "Now, O Israel, who is that the Lord your God requires from you, but that you have the Lord thy God, who you walk in all his ways, and the Ames, and the Lord, and the Lord, and to the Lord, and to the Lord, and to the Lord, and to the Lord, and to Your God with all your heart and your soul, to keep the commandments of the Lord and your statutes that I command you today, for your good? " Moses emphasizes that obeying God is for our own good, and that this is what He requires from us.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 - "And if you hear the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to keep all His commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will exalt you over all the nations of the earth. These blessings will come upon you and reach you when you hear the voice of the Lord your God. " Moses promises to the people that if they obey God, He will bless them abundantly.
