12. Whoever prevails, I will set him as a column in the temple of my God, and he shall not depart from it anymore. And I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that descends out of heaven from my God, and my new name.

" This verse relates to Jesus' exhortation to the churches of Sardis and laodie persevere in faith and faithfulness to the end.

1 Corinthians 15:58: "Therefore, my beloved brothers, firm, unshakable, and always abundant thirst in the Lord's work, knowing that your work is not go to the Lord." 2 Peter 3:9: "Do not slow the Lord his promise, as some judge her time consuming; on the contrary, he is long to us, not wanting none to perish, but everyone comes to repentance."
