2 Maccabees, 14

37. A certain Razis, one of the elders of Jerusalem, was denounced to Nicanor as a man who loved his fellow citizens and was very well thought of and for his good will was called father of the Jews.

Psalm 33:16-17: "There is no king who saves himself with the multitude of his armies, nor the brave man gets rid of his strength. The horse is going to security; it does not deliver anyone with its great strength." This verse talks about how victory depends not only on physical strength or numbers, but on God's help.

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not fear, because I am with you, do not haunt yourself, because I am your God; I strengthen you, and help you, and I support you with my faithful right hand." This verse talks about how God is our protector and provider at all times, including moments of battle and difficulty.
