Chapter 3 of the book of Revelation brings the messages of Jesus to the churches of Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodiceia. Jesus praises the Church of Philadelphia for his faithfulness and urges the churches of Sardis and Laodiceia to repent and return to him. The five verses related to the topics covered in Revelation 3 are:
2 Corinthians 6:17-18: "Therefore, I left their midst and separate, say the Lord; shall not touch impure things; and I will receive you; says the almighty Lord. " This verse relates to Jesus' exhortation to the churches of Sardis and laodice to repent and move away from impurity.
Proverbs 3:11-12: "Do not despise, my son, the correction of the Lord, nor is discouraged when he is rebuked by him. For the Lord rebuke he to whom he loves, as the Father does to the Son to whom he wants well." This verse relates to the exhortation of Jesus to the churches of Sardis and laodice to repent and return to Him.
2 Timothy 4:7-8: "I fought the good fight, I ended up the race, I have kept the faith. From now on, the crown of justice is kept to me, which the Lord, just judge, will give me that day; and not just a me, but also to all who love their coming. " This verse relates to Jesus' exhortation to the churches of Sardis and laodie persevere in faith and faithfulness to the end.
1 Corinthians 15:58: "Therefore, my beloved brothers, firm, unshakable, and always abundant thirst in the Lord's work, knowing that your work is not go to the Lord." This verse relates to Jesus' exhortation to the Church of Philadelphia, which was faithful and persevering in his work, even in the midst of persecution.
2 Peter 3:9: "Do not slow the Lord his promise, as some judge her time consuming; on the contrary, he is long to us, not wanting none to perish, but everyone comes to repentance." This verse relates to the exhortation of Jesus to the churches of Sardis and laodice to repent and go back to Him, because he is patient and wants the salvation of all.
