3. In the course of time Cain brought an offering to the LORD from the fruit of the soil,

Chapter 4 of Genesis deals with the story of Cain and Abel, the first children of Adam and Eve. Genesis 4:26: "To seven also a son was born, and he called him Enos. At that time men began to invoke the name of the Lord."
