15. Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.
Chapter 4 of Colossians contains Paul's final instructions on colosses and greetings to various people. Paul urges the Colossians to be wise in dealing with non-Christians, to take advantage of all the opportunities for testimony, and to pray that God will open doors to the preaching of the Gospel. He also sends personal greetings to various employees and asks the letter to be read in the church of Laodicea. Following five verses that relate to the topics covered in Colossians 4:
1 Thessalonians 5:17: "Pray without ceasing." This verse emphasizes the importance of prayer, a theme that is also addressed in Colossians 4.
2 Corinthians 5:20: "So that we are ambassadors of Christ, as if God prayed for us. This verse highlights the mission of witness and reconciliation that Christians have, a theme that is also emphasized in Colossians 4.
Ephesians 6:18-20: "Pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all prayer and supplication; keeping it in mind, be alert and persevere in prayer for all saints. Pray for me too, that when I speak, To be given the message so that it is fearlessly known the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an ambassador arrested in chains. Pray so that, remaining in it, I can speak without fear. " This verse highlights the importance of prayer, perseverance, and courage in the preaching of the Gospel, themes that are also emphasized in Colossians 4.
Romans 12:11: "Be not negligent in devotion, be fervent in the Spirit, serve the Lord with joy." This verse highlights the importance of devotion, joy and spiritual fervor, themes that are also emphasized in Colossians 4.
1 Peter 3:15: "Rather, Christ sanifies as Lord in your heart. Always be prepared to respond to anyone who asks you for the reason for the hope in you." This verse highlights the importance of being prepared to testify to faith and sanctify Christ in our hearts, themes that are also emphasized in Colossians 4.
