6. Abram passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites were in the land.

Genesis 12 tells the story of how God called Abram to get out of his homeland and go to a land He would show him. Hebrews 11:8: "By faith Abraham, when called, obeyed and went to a place he was going to receive as an inheritance. He left, not knowing where he was going." This verse speaks of Abram's faith in God and how he obeyed God's orders, even without knowing where he was going. This faith is one of Abram's main features throughout the Bible.
